AWANA

You won’t want to miss our AWANA program on Wednesday nights at First Baptist.

If you or your children need bus transportation to and from Wednesday night activities, please call the church at (417) 934-2621 no later than 4 p.m. that day so we can arrange pick up.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a delicious dinner in the Fellowship Hall. The AWANA program begins a little after 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. Adult Bible Study begins at 6:15 p.m., so while your child in enjoying AWANA, you can also be studying God’s Word! Nursery care and Puggles (for age 3/4) is ONLY available for children whose parents are either attending Bible Study or volunteering in AWANA that night.

AWANA means Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. This exciting program helps children become invested in God’s Word, memorizing Scripture and letting God’s truth sink deep into their hearts. AWANA begins for your child when they are at least 4 before the school year begins and eligible for preschool/Head Start. It goes through sixth grade.

Steve and Betty Hockman are the AWANA Commanders, leading the ministry here. Please consider becoming a partner in this ministry by volunteering to help! Contact Betty or Steve to begin serving with the children in their classes, as part of the kitchen team or as a driver/ride along adult.
